Course Review: Redbourn Golf Club

12 Aug

I’ve played at the Redbourn Golf Club two or three times. As a member of Birchwood Golf Club, I get preferential rates at the Redbourn Golf Club as both clubs are part of the BGL group of courses.

The course is a decent length, not long and not short. At the longest, it measures 6,503 yards/5,946 meters from the back. The yellow club tees measure 6,224 yards/5,691 meters and the red ladies tees measure 5,702 yards/5,213 meters.

Every time I’ve played the course, the fairways have been in very good condition but I found the greens a bit hard with very little to no hold (even on shots hit with lots of spin). Par for the course is 70 with just one Par 5 on each 9.

The par 5, 18th measures a whopping 619 yards/566 meters from the back tees but does play downhill and two well struck shots will give you a chance at Eagle.

The course also boasts a 9 hole Par 3 course (which I’ve never had the pleasure of playing) as well as a driving range.

A round during the week will cost you between £31 and £36 and up to £42 at the weekends. Tee times can be booked via the phone or online
